SwimRight Pool Service & Repair professionals offer pool opening advice

May is right around the corner but if you live in Scottsdale, Arizona and own a swimming pool, chances are your pool has already been opened for the summer swim season. If you haven’t opened your pool yet, though, here are some of the steps that the swimming pool service contractors from SwimRight Pool Service & Repair will do when they open your pool for you:

    • Your contractor will come to your home equipped with the chemicals and supplies necessary to open the pool for the season. If you’re opening it yourself, make certain you have everything on hand so you don’t have to run to the pool supply store in the midst of the process.
    • The pool cover and deck should be cleaned before the cover is removed to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the pool water. Your pool contractor will remove any standing water and clean the cover itself.
    • Once the cover’s removed it will need to be cleaned and stored for the summer.swimming pool opening
    • The pool will be inspected to assure there are no leaks or cracks and that it is good working order before the pump is run for the first time. Plumbing and electrical outlets will be inspected and the power turned on.
    • The expansion plugs will be removed from the water inlets and any equipment that was winterized with antifreeze will be cleaned and drained.
    • Skimmer baskets will be replaced and reinstalled. Hoses will be replaced and hooked back up the skimmer and return jets to the pump and filter.
    • Equipment and plumbing will be reconnected, this includes the heater as well.
    • The pool will be refilled to proper levels and the pool water will be skimmed and all debris removed.
    • Ladders, diving boards, slides, etc. will be reinstalled.
    • The filtration system will be started and the pool vacuumed.
    • The water will be tested and circulated for between 24 and 48 hours.
    • The filtration system will be run until the water is clean.
    • Once the pool is full, the pump has run and circulated the water and the chemicals are in balance it’s time for the fun part —
    • Jump in and enjoy your swimming pool!
