Plan for swimming pool repairs, SwimRight Pool contractors offer advice
At some point, all swimming pools will need to be repaired. The swimming pool contractors from SwimRight Pools explain that you should plan for swimming pool repairs and that way you won’t be surprised or blindsided when the need arises. A swimming pool requires more than ongoing maintenance and service to keep them safe for your family’s use. Major repairs and swimming pool renovations will likely be handled by your pool service contractor, but you may be able to undertake small repairs on your own. Prior to handling a pool repair, you may ant to ask a pool contractor for advice because you don’t want to cause a larger issue when you’re repairing a seemingly small one.
Plan for swimming pool repairs
- A concrete swimming pool will need to be occasionally acid washed and will at some point need to have the plaster repaired and replaced. Concrete pools will eventually crack, chip and show wear and discoloration. If you’re a do it yourselfer, you may be able to replaster these areas.
- A fiberglass pool may eventually blister or get bubbles or even crack. Bubbles, blisters and cracks can be repaired with a fiberglass repair kit and you can purchase this from your swimming pool service contractor. If you find the fiberglass is losing its color, it is a
more difficult — some would say impossible — fix as it’s not easy to match the color exactly.
- A vinyl liner pool is considered one of the easiest for a home handyman to fix. If ou can locate the source of the leak or rip, a vinyl repair kit may just solve the issue. Ask your pool contractor for a vinyl liner repair kit to keep on hand. You may even be able to repair a vinyl liner pool without draining it. If, however, that’s not possible you will want to leave the draining of the pool to a professional.
If your pool is having equipment issues, if the pump pressure is not as high as it should be or for other pool equipment issues, work with your pool contractor. Additionally, when your pool service contractor pays a weekly visit to clean and maintain your pool, he will also point out any potential issues he sees; this will help you either save money for repairs or replacement equipment.
The best way to avoid repairs is by having your swimming pool cleaned, serviced and maintained by a professional swimming pool service contractor.
