Each building material has its own unique advantages and drawbacks. In this article we will answer the question of how long does a vinyl liner last as there are are many factors that go into the life of any type of pool material. The area of the country in which you live may also play a role in the type of pool liner or construction material you choose. For example, in earthquake prone areas it might make more sense to have a pool material such as fiberglass or a vinyl liner to withstand any movement of the earth during those times.
When we clean and service swimming pools for our customers we give the vinyl liner a once over to check for any areas that may become problematic or that may lead to a rip or tear. Pool chemicals, use and the environment in which the pool resides will also play a role in the viability of the liner. This makes it difficult to give a definitive answer as to how long does a vinyl liner will last.
