How to throw a Halloween pool party

The beauty of owning a swimming pool in an area of the country that is as warm as Arizona is know that there is still time to host at least one more swimming pool party and with Halloween just around the corner, the time is now to start planning!  Your swimming pool service contractor from SwimRight Pools may caution against swimming, unless you have a swimming pool heater, but you can still enjoy and use the pool for your party gathering.

Here are a few ideas for your Halloween-themed swimming pool party:  halloween

  • If the water is warm enough you can have relay races or play water polo or water volleyball.
  • Consider a game of orange light/black light (based on the game red light/green light) in your back yard. Orange can mean go and black can mean stop. Again, if the water is warm enough you could play this game in the pool
  • Scavenger/treasure hunts: Fill plastic Halloween baskets or bags with goodies and hide them around the yard for a different take on trick or treating. Hosting a Halloween party in your backyard pool area is a great way to help keep the children safe if you don’t like them going door to door.
  • Have a costume contest with prizes being given to the winners.
  • Serve Halloween-themed food. Scary eyes — peeled grapes; worms and guts — spaghetti and meatballs; frank-en-furters — mini hot dogs wrapped in a croissant; let your imagination go wild.
  • Illuminate the backyard with hanging strings of lights in a Halloween theme — bats, ghosts, witches, pumpkins.
  • If you’re not going to use the pool because it’s a bit too cold, illuminate the water with floating pumpkin candles.
  • If you decide to use the pool you can toss a few towels in the dryer and heat them up so whomever is using the pool can wrap up in warmth when they’re done.
  • Have a Jack-o-Lantern carving or painting contest or even a cupcake decorating table for the guests.
