5 tips to get best pool remodeling results
Talk with your pool contractor to get the answers to these questions.
- When is the best time to start your pool remodeling project? Is there a time of year when pool contractors suggest? Why? Are you willing to live with your current pool until you can have the remodeling project started? When is the pool contractor’s ideal time to kick off your project. The end of the summer or early spring are the ideal times — especially in Arizona when you want to have access to your pool during the triple digit temperatures of summer!
- Getting the best pool remodeling results means you need to get the best pool contractor for the project. Ask friends and family for suggestions or referrals as you begin your search. Check the credentials of several pool contractors. Look at their portfolios of completed projects. Talk with former customers to see how they enjoyed the experience.
- Understand the timetable for the project. This is the reason you want to wait until the swim season is over to kick off most projects because you don’t want to lose precious swim time during the pool remodeling project. You will want to know how long the project will take; will you be without your pool for a week? A month? Longer?
- Make sure the pool contractor has liability insurance. He will also need Worker’s Comp insurance for his employees. If he is using subcontractors, they will need to have insurance as well.
- Be prepared for dust, dirt, noise and some potential inconvenience of not being able to access your backyard during the construction project.
