SwimRight Pools, serving the Scottsdale, AZ area offer swimming pool party safety tips

Silly question, but are you planning swimming pool parties this summer? If you’re planning a pool party, that means you will probably have more people in the water than you are accustomed to and that also means you need to take steps to make the pool safe for everyone in the water.

Whether you’re planning a Fourth of July pool party or an “It’s the weekend, let’s have a party party” you want to keep it safe and fun.

Swimming pool party safety tips

Here are some top safety tips from the swimming pool contractors from SwimRight Pool Service & Repair.

  • If you’re serving food, keep it out of the sun and keep refrigerated foods cold.
  • Put a dome over foods to keep bugs out of them.
  • Don’t use glass containers or bottles poolside. If they break someone could get injured.
  • Make certain you have enough life vests for everyone who is going to use the pool — if parents are bringing their young ones to the party, ask them to bring a life vest if they have one.
  • Fill a kiddie pool and keep it poolside for those children who want to be in the water, but not in a full sized pool.
  • Make sure there are adults who are in charge of anyone who uses the swimming pool to keep everyone safe and accounted for.
  • Make a “no swimming if you’re drinking alcohol” rule
  • Plan for overnight guests and take away the car keys of any guest who is imbibing. Have easy to serve breakfast foods on hand for those guests who do stay over night.
  • Have a bucket poolside to hold sunscreen, bug spray, swim goggles and other items your guests may have forgotten. Have sun screen and sun block of varying SPF levels.
  • Have some flip flops on hand for guests who don’t want to walk around barefoot, but who may have forgotten shoes.
  • Don’t forget to have a supply of extra towels on hand and string up a clothesline to dry them between dips on the pool.
  • Have some out of pool activities planned for those who want to relax poolside and be entertained.
  • Don’t forget to have lighting for nighttime swimming.

Have a safe and happy summer and don’t forget to call and schedule a before and after party pool cleaning!
